Description
This psalm calls the whole world to worship Jesus, who comes as Jehovah (the LORD) to make his salvation and righteousness known to all the nations.
Commentary
This psalm calls the whole world to worship Jesus, who comes as Jehovah (the LORD) to make his salvation and righteousness known to all the nations. In verse 1, 'His right hand and his mighty arm accomplish deliverance'. This is not speaking of the Cross, but of his show of strength at the second coming. Verse 3 says "He remains loyal and faithful to the family of Israel. All the ends of the earth see our God deliver us". This is speaking of his deliverance of Israel from the Antichrist and his end-time empire, in full view of all nations. Verses 4 to 6 call for jubilant worship with musical accompaniment. Verses 7 to 8 call creation to worship, which will also have been redeemed (Romans 8:20-22). In verse 9, the reason for such rejoicing is that Jesus has come to judge the peoples of the world fairly and justly.

This psalm is very similar to Psalm 96.

One of the ever recurring themes in biblical end-time prophecies is that of God's continued commitment to the people of Israel and to the Abrahamic covenant in which he promised the land to Israel forever.
