I’ve just come across a really interesting online resource called 'The End Time Bible Commentary'. It provides detailed commentary on all the chapters in the Bible that relate to end times. It also provides search functionality as a powerful tool for anyone wishing to make a serious study of end time prophecies. A hymnathon by Paul Macisker. This is my adaptation of the classic hymn by Julia Ward Howe, "Mine Eyes Have Seen the Glory of the Coming of the Lord", also known as the "Battle Hymn of the Republic".
Why is it important to tell your friends about the End Time Bible Commentary?
I believe that Jesus is coming back very soon. If that is true, it is important for Christians to understand the events that will soon take place. But Jesus has warned us about the time shortly before his coming, saying:
Matthew 24:10-13 "Then many will be led into sin, and they will betray one another and hate one another. And many false prophets will appear and deceive many, and because lawlessness will increase so much, the love of many will grow cold. But the person who endures to the end will be saved" (NET Bible)
Being 'led into sin' is a euphemism for turning away from the faith. In the 20th century, two world wars led many Christians, especially in western nations, to turn away from the faith, disillusioned by the terrible cruelty of man to man. As end-time events continue to unfold, Jesus warns us that this trend is likely to continue. Because of poor teaching about end-time events, even Christians who have attended church all their lives may find themselves poorly prepared for the events that precede his coming, and turn away in disillusionment. The bible warns us that troubling times are ahead, but before the world enters another long dark tunnel, Christians need to be sure of the light at the end of it.
I hope that many non-Christians will also read the End Time Bible Commentary. It’s just as important for them to be aware what the bible says will happen, even if they don't believe it right away. Non-christians are going to get caught up in end-time events just like Christians are, but with even less understanding of what is really going on. Not only that, their eternal destiny is at stake! Jesus has told us plainly:
John14:6 … “I am the way and the truth and the life. No-one comes to the Father except through me.”
Most non-Christians are completely unaware that they need to be saved, and time is running out for them to find out. Thirty five years ago when I was a confused agnostic teenager, a friend gave me a book called 'The Late Great Planet Earth'. It was about biblical prophecies being fulfilled in the 20th century. Today, I choose to differ with some of that book's conclusions. But as a sixteen year old, it awakened an interest in me and was a significant factor in me finding faith in Jesus three years later.
The End Time Bible Commentary might not convince sceptics right away, but in the months and years ahead as events unfold in fulfilment of biblical prophecies, they may remember what they’ve read here and think again. God has given us unprecedented prophetic detail about the end-time generation that we live in today. He wants to help us through the long dark tunnel of the Great Tribulation with hope of a glorious future.
Some of you reading this may have been taught that Christians will be raptured before the Great Tribulation starts, and think we have little to worry about. Thinking selfishly, it would be nice if that were the case. But what if the rapture comes at the seventh and last trumpet, as I believe, and Christians have to endure while the events related to the seven seal judgments and the first six trumpet judgments take place? Wouldn't you rather be prepared for them? If you have been taught to believe in a pre-tribulation rapture, you may find my commentary on 2 Thessalonians 2 a helpful place to start.
